洛杉矶，是全美国兼具气候最好、华人最多两大特征的地方。在洛杉矶，能享受西方的文明，又能保留中国的文化，包括饮食文化。
中国国内有钱人，如商人和贪官，特别钟爱洛杉矶，纷纷运送年轻貌美的二奶赴美。金屋藏娇的&二奶村&应运而生。
这几年，洛杉矶新开发的又一道风景线是&月子中心&。广告词颇有煽动性：&把宝宝的起跑线放在美国&。怎么放呢？那就是到美国生孩子，月子中心自然就有生意了。
美国的法律规定，凡是出生在美国的孩子，一律自动成为美国公民。不管其父母是什么身份，哪怕是偷渡客，孩子出生在美国，就是美国公民。
姚明的女儿姚沁蕾在休斯顿一出生，就成为美国公民，通俗点讲，她就是美国人，不存在所谓&入美国籍&问题。2011年5月，姚沁蕾首次进入中国，用的就是老鹰护照。
可能考虑到这样的孩子是&被成为美国人&的，美国法律规定，出生在美国的孩子到年满18足岁后，可以自己选择保留或是放弃美国籍。
出生在美国的孩子若留在美国，可享受小学（包括一年幼儿园）至高中毕业的13年义务教育；可享受高等教育和就业方面的权利。到21岁，还能为父母申请移民，而后七大姑八大嫂都能指望沾点光。
